A SAVIOUR’S HEART (3)

ISAIAH 55:4—”Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader, commander”

Lastly, a saviour’s heart means to be a leader—to witness to God’s commands, and institute a constitution which can bring organization. Without leadership, people become loose as water (Mat.9:36; 26:31). It’s nakedness (Ex.32:25). It’s parental and political leadership failures that cause loose morals. Society today hates boundaries all in the name of freedom of rights.

But true freedom isn’t about “rights” in a sense. It is God who has the copyright and patent right to everything. What He gave us is responsibility. When we interpret liberty in that light we begin to see it has boundaries as God told Adam (Gen.2:16-17). For instance, the government house isn’t your family house. So, “rights” fade as responsibility glows. The more responsible people get, the freer and happier they become. Having a saviour’s heart is taking leadership responsibility to achieve this.
