LUKE 4:18—”The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me…to set at liberty them that are bruised”
In the last 20th century and present the hot or buzz word is, “freedom”. We’ve seen men and women undertake this task for their fellowmen, and giving so much to see they are free as they are.
So, the second thing about having a saviour’s heart is Liberation of People. Just as God used Moses and Aaron to free Israel, God wants to use us to deliver many who are bound to whatever ailments and habits. We are deliverers. This task mustn’t be taken lightly. It’s an honour to be a freedom fighter.
We’ve witnessed the likes of Gandhi, Martin Luther Jr., and that teenage girl, Malala; theirs was earthly, whereas ours is heavenly. We do this by preaching the gospel. This was Christ’s mission, and it is ours also, our calling. It is our character—we are liberators. It’s what we’re anointed for. That’s all we know how to do. So, let’s get to work!
